Dr Kwok Tang graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School, with postgraduate Gastroenterology/Hepatology higher specialist training in London at both Guys & St Thomas’s Hospitals and University College Hospital. He has also completed training at the Institute of Liver Studies, Kings College Hospital. He is dual-accredited in both Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine.

Dr Tang pursued subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy/colonoscopy and ERCP as Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1998-1999), and delivers a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/ERCP service at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, Barnet and Chase Farm Hospital. He is active in endoscopy training in his role as both educational and clinical trainee supervisor in general gastroenterology. He is examiner for UCL/RFH Final MB, and CMT interviewer at London Deanery.

Dr Tang was awarded a Wellcome Institute Training Fellowship and conducted full-time research at the Institute of Hepatology, University College London (2000 – 20003), completing his MD thesis in Viral Hepatitis immunopathogenesis. He is BCF Lead in Hepatitis, and provides a broad HPB service with dedicated weekly Hepatitis treatment clinic at Barnet Hospital.
