Consultant Nephrologist
Alex Riding is a Consultant Nephrologist, experienced in helping people with kidney disease of any cause, as well as general medical problems. She has clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of kidney problems, management of chronic kidney disease, (CKD), renal transplantation, high blood pressure and renal disorders in pregnancy.
Dr Riding is passionate about improving care for people living with kidney disease and understands that kidney disease can affect people and families in many ways. Managing kidney problems within this context is important to her practice.
Dr Riding graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2002 with a BSc in Medical sciences. She continued her medical training at the University of Cambridge in 2009 and went on to training placements in London and East Anglian Deaneries, where she completed dual accreditation in Nephrology and General (internal) Medicine. She completed a PhD investigating the role Innate Lymphoid Cells in the Renal tract at the University of Cambridge.
Dr Riding works at two NHS teaching hospitals in North Central London, the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and University London NHS Foundation Trust.
