Funding Your Treatment
A quick and easy way to get immediate access to the healthcare you need, we welcome both self-paying patients and those covered by private health insurance.
At the Royal Free London - Private Patients Unit we like our patients to have no surprises or unexpected costs at the end of their stay with us, so in order to help assist your decision for treatment, we have a range of guide prices across our specialties to help you get an idea of estimated costs for your care. These prices may be subject to change and be more tailored to your case; final prices will be confirmed after your initial consultation.
Self-Funding Patients
By self-funding you can have fast access to our top consultants, an extensive range of treatments, diagnostic tests and surgical procedures at our world-class hospital.
During your initial consultation, you can discuss treatment options and pricing with your consultant.
Our competitive packages are inclusive of everything you need, giving you complete peace of mind. If you can’t see package prices for your treatment please call our team who will be able to talk you through your options and provide a self-pay quote for you.
Patients who are self-funding are generally asked for full payment prior to starting any treatment.
For further information and to discuss pricing options, please contact our team on 020 7317 7751 or rf-tr.privateenquiries@nhs.net

Privately Insured Patients
We work with all of the major insurers; therefore your treatment is likely to be covered. We do advise you to confirm with your insurer that they cover your particular treatment and obtain authorisation before making an appointment or proceeding with treatment.
Once we have all the necessary details, we will book you in and handle the financial aspects of your appointments and treatments directly with your insurer.
Why do I need authorisation?
Your insurance company may not fund the initial consultation or all types of treatments; they may only cover certain aspects. If that is the case, you will be expected to fund any additional costs. Some insurance companies may require supporting information from your GP, Consultant or ourselves to confirm cover.
If you are not sure whether we accept your health insurer or if you need assistance with authorisation, contact our referrals team on 020 7317 7751 or rf-tr.privateenquiries@nhs.net. We are happy to help.

Embassy Patients
We work with a vast array of embassies in the UK and internationally. Our international team will liaise with your embassy to arrange a letter of guarantee which will cover you for all costs of your appointment and treatment.
