Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Nelson Amaral is a consultant cardiologist and an expert in the assessment, detection and treatment of heart problems. He treats all cardiac conditions and provides personalised care that is specifically tailored to your needs.
Dr Amaral studied medicine at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf (Germany) and the University of Bern (Switzerland), qualifying in 2004. He completed his postgraduate cardiology training in London, including specialist fellowship training at some of the top hospitals in the UK, such as King’s College Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Dr Amaral started his career as an anaesthetist, before specialising in Cardiology. He therefore has unique expertise in the cardiac assessment and management of patients due to undergo surgery.
In addition to his clinical training, Dr Amaral completed two postgraduate doctorate degrees: an MD(Res) and a PhD. His research expertise allows him to practice cardiology at the highest level.
Dr Amaral is also an undergraduate teaching lead at University College London Medical School.
