Dr Salim Janmohamed is an experienced, senior Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist, specialising in Endocrinology, Diabetes and General Medicine. He undertook medical training at University College Hospital London, including a BSc degree in pharmacology, and he qualified with a triple distinction (honours) MBBS degree in 1988. Dr Janmohamed then underwent postgraduate training in a number of academic and clinical institutions in London and Oxford, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1991. Since then, he has specialised in Endocrinology and Diabetes. He has also spent four years researching pituitary disease and the genetics of diabetes and obesity.
Dr Janmohamed was appointed as a Consultant 1999 and he practices in a number of London Hospitals, including Royal Free, The Wellington and Clementine Churchill Hospitals. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London). His specialist interests include metabolism, thyroid and parathyroid disease, pituitary and adrenal disorders, obesity, sex/reproductive hormones, osteoporosis and hormonal treatments. He is also involved in international clinical research of novel and emerging medicines for cardiovascular and metabolic disorders and other conditions. His fellowships and memberships include: Royal College of Physicians, Royal Society of Medicine, Society for Endocrinology (UK), The Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, American Diabetes Association and European Society of Cardiology.
