Consultant Urological Surgeon
Mr Leye Ajayi is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Clinical Lead for Endourology at the Royal Free Hospital. He specialises in minimally invasive surgery for urinary tract stone disease and Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH). His general urology practice includes andrology, rapid access prostate clinics, and haematuria (blood in urine) assessments.
Mr Ajayi established the Aquablation therapy programme at the Royal Free Hospital and has extensive experience performing this advanced procedure. Surgeons from across the UK and Europe attend his theatre sessions to gain insight into the technology and surgical technique.
He was awarded an MD for his research into the molecular biology of prostate cancer and has published widely in this field as well as in urinary tract stone disease. He is Course Director of an international masterclass in complex stone disease and is one of a small number of surgeons in the UK performing percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in the supine position, with significant expertise in this complex procedure.
Mr Ajayi is an Associate Member of the Endourology Section of the European Association of Urology. He has performed live surgery at the Association’s Annual Congress in London (2017), Copenhagen (2018), Barcelona (2019), Virtual Congress (2021), Paris (2024) and London (2026).
He has been invited to faculty roles at numerous European meetings and represented the European School of Urology(ESU) during masterclasses in Barcelona (2021–2024). Additional invited faculty and live surgery roles include:

Mr Ajayi served as moderator for the Journal of Endourology Podcast on stone disease (2020–2021) and is faculty for the Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU) Grand Round on controversies in urinary stone management.

Special interests
Mr Ajayi offers rapid access one stop urinary stones, haematuria and prostate assessment. His main specialist interests are in minimally invasive laser surgery for complex kidney and ureteric stone disease including lithotripsy. He also has an interest in andrology.
