Dr Owen Woghiren

Dr Woghiren is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician who trained in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), gastrointestinal infections and endoscopy.

Dr Woghiren has weekly general gastroenterology clinics where he assesses a variety of referrals such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), chronic constipation, swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) and dyspepsia.

He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polpectomy weekly and has expertise in dealing with bleeding from the gut and gut infections.

Dr Woghiren performs over 1000 colonoscopies and gastroscopies a year and has above standard completion rates as well as very low complication rates and discomfort scores.

Services available include breath testing for helicobacter, lactose intolerance and small bowel overgrowth, video capsule endoscopy and oesophageal manometry and pH testing for severe reflux and ‘acid’ disorders.
