Consultant cardiologist

Dr Schofield was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist, with special interest in multimodality imaging and women’s cardiology to the Royal Free Hospital in 2024. She has an interest in Lifestyle Prescribing and holistic care. Prior to this, she had been a Consultant at North West Anglia Foundation Trust in 2016. In her 8 year term we made significant advances in the echocardiography department and set up a Cardiovascular CT service. In 2020 they set up MPS/DPD and CMR. In her role as the Clinical Director for respiratory and cardiology services the team re-evaluated their outpatient services and developed a GP cardiology service integrated with our community providers. They also developed the first virtual ward offering for COVID patients.

In 2021, Dr Schofield became the secondary care lead for the EofE cardiac network and led the echo, heart failure, cardiac CT and valvular heart disease workstreams.

Dr Schofield believes in the importance of high quality care and development of the interface between Cardiology and other medical specialties. She is a multi-modality imager. She is the president of the BNCS and has previously held roles on the BSE and BSCI committees.  She's committed to improving the quality of training for Cardiology and Radiology SpR ‘s, and continuing professional education and development of AHP’s and medical students.

Dr Schofield was the Medical Block Lead for University of Leicester Year 3 students at NWAFT from 2020-2024.

She was the Clinical Lead for cardiology and Respiratory CBU from 2020-2022 and the Deputy Divisional Director for Medicine from 2022-2024.
