Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Mr Dariush Nikkhah is a fully accredited and Internationally renowned Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He is a full member of British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), and holds a substantiative NHS Consultant post at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust. He specialises in cosmetic breast surgery, microsurgery and hand surgery.
Mr Nikkhah founded the London Microsurgery Group in 2021 which accepts referrals for complex microsurgical reconstructions after cancer and trauma. He is a leading international specialist in reconstructive microsurgery after cancer and trauma. His private practice is located in North London at St John and Elizabeth Hospital and The Royal Free Private Patients unit and HCA hospitals. Mr Nikkhah has a particular interest and is renowned for microsurgical breast reconstruction with the DIEP flap and TUG flap.
Mr Nikkhah received his undergraduate degree in Medicine at the University of Southampton. He completed his registrar training in London at The Royal Free, Barts, Great Ormond St Hospital for Children and Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. This was followed by a fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia.
Mr Nikkhah’s research interests include improving outcomes in reconstructive surgery for patients with cancers of the breast, and soft tissue reconstruction of the hand. He is an Associate Professor at University College London and has given national and international lectures on a broad range of topics related to plastic surgery. He has published more than 177 scientific journal articles. He has edited two textbooks on reconstructive surgery with Springer Nature and Thieme. He is on the editorial board for Microsurgery Journal.
