Clinical Lead – Cardiovascular Risk Prevention
Professor Devi Nair is an internationally recognised expert in lipid disorders and cardiovascular risk prevention. She is the Clinical Lead for Cardiovascular Risk Prevention at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and serves as the Specialty Lead for Biochemistry at Health Services Laboratories (HSL), which supports five major hospitals in North Central London.
Professor Nair has extensive expertise in managing complex lipid disorders, including genetically inherited hyperlipidaemia including familial hypercholesterolaemia, hypertriglyceridaemia, and statin intolerance. She has a particular interest in personalised lipid management using novel therapies and has been instrumental in setting up clinics to deliver cutting-edge injectable treatments for patients who are unable to tolerate traditional statin therapy or require more intensive lipid-lowering interventions. At the Lyndhurst rooms at the Royal Free Hospital Patients can receive the injectable therapies -Evolocumab, Alirocumab or Inclisiran as appropriate to their clinical condition.

Education & Training
A passionate educator, Professor Nair served as the Training Programme Director for Chemical Pathology in North Central London until 2022 and was Regional Advisor for the Royal College of Pathologists. She is also an examiner in the specialty and holds an adjunct professorship at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, India, where she supervises PhD students and contributes to postgraduate training. Her international teaching includes work in Sri Lanka, Kuwait, and her annual Clinical Lipidology Course in India, which has earned her a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Lipid Association of India.
