Mr Vibhash Mishra
MS, FRCSED, FRCS UROL, FEBU
Consultant Urological Surgeon
Mr Mishra started in 2010 as a consultant urological surgeon at Royal Free Hospital, London where, besides his clinical work, he is closely involved in research, training and education. He serves the UCL as the Lead for undergraduate urological teaching and has been a principal investigator for multi-centre clinical trials.
He completed his urological training on the six-year higher surgical rotational training programme in London including the last two years as a fellow in Female & Reconstructive Urology at the prestigious Institute of Urology at UCLH, London.
In his clinical practice, he looks after patients with urinary incontinence, neurogenic bladder dysfunction, UTIs, BPH, haematuria, bladder cancer and peno-scrotal problems.
His research interests include urinary incontinence and infections, not only because these comprise a significant part of his practice, but also, because he believes that the evidence base in these areas is poor and while cancer is an emotive topic, the suffering of these patients is no less and clinicians have a duty of care to them too.
He believes medicine is as much an art as science and must be practised with compassion, sensitivity and respect. He considers his listening ability and easy approachability as his strengths and strikes an immediate personal rapport with his patients.
He lives in Watford with his gynaecologist wife and two daughters and enjoys music, cinema and sports. He is a keen follower of cricket and tennis.
