RFL NHS Private Patients Unit and Relimb, finalist for ‘Innovation in Care’

Royal Free London NHS Private Patients Unit and Relimb have been shortlisted as finalists for LaingBuisson’s ‘Innovation in Care’ award. The ‘Innovation in Care’ award celebrates organisations that demonstrate innovation in the delivery of healthcare.

Relimb is led by internationally recognised consultants Mr Norbert Kang and Mr Alex Woollard and is part of the Royal Free London Private Patients Unit.

Relimb recognises the critical importance of an MDT approach to the treatment of amputees to achieve the best possible outcome. The cutting-edge technique offers amputees and people who have suffered from major physical trauma a range of reconstructive options to improve their quality of life through #osseointegration, nerve surgery and holistic therapeutic treatment.

Relimb™ was set up in 2018 and has been transforming lives by providing amputee reconstructions services for patients within the UK and from abroad.

Dean Stephen Booth, PPU Commercial Director, said ‘Recognition for this award is testament to the exceptional care provided by the Royal Free London NHS PPU team. This achievement would not have been possible without the overarching clinical quality and governance standards witnessed within the Trust and we’re extremely proud to be able to reinvest all profits from private practice back into the NHS to sustain this’.
